Delta Capital Partners Management, a Chicago-based global private equity firm specializing in litigation and legal finance, seeks to hire a Finance & Business Analyst to join its team in its Chicago headquarters.  The position will report directly to the CEO and COO.  The firm provides capital and related services to individuals, businesses, private investment funds, law firms and other professional service firms across the world that seek to hedge their financial exposure, reduce legal spending, enhance the probability of a successful and timely resolution of claims, and maximize the effectiveness of their core businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with management to develop or enhance global, regional, and country-specific strategic plans.
  • Build sophisticated economic and financial models for the firm, its portfolios, investments, products and services, offices, and worldwide operations.
  • Assist in the analysis and development of new product and service offerings.
  • Perform analytical evaluations of competitors, industries, and markets worldwide.
  • Track and analyze industry developments, offerings, opportunities, and threats.
  • Conduct market and industry research in legal services, litigation finance, private equity, investments, and related industries.
  • Utilize analytics techniques to gather and analyze data affecting the business (social media, web analytics, rankings, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Must have already earned (or within the next 5 months will earn) a BS/BA in Finance, Economics, or other Business Discipline from a top college or university with high GPA.
  • Preference for candidates who have already earned (or within the next 18 months will earn) an MBA or appropriate MS/MA from top school.
  • Preference for candidates with relevant experience in private equity, investments, strategic planning, and financial analysis.

Delta Capital Partners, an innovative leader in litigation funding, judgment enforcement, and asset recovery financing is seeking to hire one or more Interns to work out of Delta’s Chicago office.  The position involves a variety of administrative, operations and marketing tasks, as well as periodic special projects for senior management of the firm.

An ideal position for a current college, graduate school or business school student who is high-energy, mature, and well-organized with strong analytical and communication skills, and wants to work with and learn from the senior leadership team of a fast-growing, highly-regarded private equity fund manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative, marketing, finance, operations, and general business support to the firm.
  • Track, analyze and prepare reports and presentations concerning portfolio investments and new deal opportunities.
  • Assist with origination, investor relations, and marketing activities.
  • Work on special projects, including:
    • vetting of, and planning for, prospective staff and employees,
    • assist with human resource and benefit plan analysis and related matters,
    • analyze software and IT platforms and programs, and
    • prepare special project budgets and reports.
  • Analyze competitors and industry developments and make recommendations to management.
  • Develop economic and financial models for the firm and its various portfolios.

Compensation:

$20 per hour, plus eligibility for performance bonus. Interns also may seek to earn credit for their internship if permitted by their educational institution. Depending on the needs of the firm and interests of the Intern, internship positions oftentimes develop into full-time positions upon graduation.

Delta Capital Partners Management, a Chicago-based global private equity firm specializing exclusively in the provision of litigation and legal finance, seeks to hire an experienced litigation attorney to assist in the underwriting, evaluation, and management of litigation investments.  This individual will work in the firm’s Chicago headquarters and report to the Managing Director of Originations & Diligence.  In addition, this individual will work directly with a wide range of domestic and international law firms, businesses, and service providers with whom Delta works.

This is a full-time position which involves coordinating sophisticated due diligence analysis of litigation claims, managing and supervising the diligence process for prospective investments, and assisting the Managing Director with reporting, monitoring, and successfully monetizing claims within the portfolio.

  • 4+ years of legal experience as a litigation attorney at a top US law firm (Am Law 200 or boutique), including substantial briefing, deposition and expert discovery, and oral argument/trial work. Bar membership is required. The ideal candidate will have specific experience working plaintiff-side litigation, but this is not required.
  • Ideal candidate will have extensive experience in U.S. commercial litigation, but candidates with some experience in international litigation, arbitration, and/or judgment enforcement preferred.
  • Ability to identify and assess complicated legal and financial issues, present them clearly, and propose solutions.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), drafting and negotiating skills.

Delta Capital Partners Management, a Chicago-based global private equity firm specializing exclusively in the provision of litigation and legal finance, seeks to hire experienced litigators, transactional attorneys, or proven professionals who have sold high-value financial or legal products and services (collectively, “Originators”) to assist in the sourcing of litigation finance investment opportunities.  This individual will report to Delta’s Global Head of Originations, and will call upon law firms, accounting firms, financial service firms, and Fortune 1000 companies.  Depending on their assigned territory (“Territory”), Originators may elect to work entirely remotely or out of one of Delta’s offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and sourcing appropriate investment opportunities for Delta’s various funds and investment vehicles, focusing on sourcing from firms and companies within the Territory.
  • With management’s assistance, develop a marketing plan that will detail monthly and annual sales targets, as well as the means by which the Originator intends to meet such targets (e.g., in-person meetings, conferences, calls, emails, affiliate marketing, co-marketing, etc.) and related marketing budget.
  • Regularly schedule meetings with potential clients to develop relationships and initiate origination conversations.
  • Assist the Global Director of Originations with the ongoing growth and development of Delta’s marketing and business development activities within the Territory, including by preparing strategic development, marketing, and business development plans, and working closely with the Company’s marketing team toward achievement of the foregoing.
  • Hosting and/or participating and/or contributing in/to podcasts, webinars, seminars, conferences, workshops, blogs, advertising, articles, and other traditional, digital and/or social media programs to promote the brand, products, and services of Delta within the Territory as well as globally.
  • Depending on the Territory and residence of the Originator, frequent travel may be necessary in connection with the performance of the foregoing duties.
  • Input and manage origination and marketing data into Delta’s various databases, CRM platform, and analytics programs.
  • Collaborate with marketing and support personnel in connection with the foregoing.
  • Cultivate and grow relationships with law firms, in-house legal departments, and other professional service firms.

Qualifications:

  • Requires at least 3 years of relevant experience at a top-tier firm.
  • Active Bar membership required if Originator is an attorney.
  • The ideal candidate will have meaningful familiarity/experience/understanding of the U.S. commercial litigation, legal, finance, and/or investment markets. Familiarity with commercial litigation finance is a significant plus.
  • Ability to understand and sell complex legal and financial matters to sophisticated clients is required.
