Peter Cornell, Esq.

Mr. Cornell is a pioneer and leader in the European legal, private equity, credit, and litigation finance industries.  Mr. Cornell led the majority investment by Metric Capital into Augusta Ventures, the largest U.K. litigation funder by number of funded deals.  Mr. Cornell served as Augusta’s non-Executive Chairman until joining Delta as its President.

Prior to joining Delta, Mr. Cornell was a Founding Partner and member of the Investment Committee of Metric Capital Partners, a Special Situations Fund focused on European investments with a total of €2.7 billion under management.

Prior to co-founding Metric, Mr. Cornell served as a Managing Director and member of the Investment Committee of Terra Firma Capital Partners, a large European-based private equity firm, where Mr. Cornell oversaw stakeholder and investor relations, and the firm’s relationship with regulators, governments, banks, and the media.

Mr. Cornell began his professional career at the law firm of Clifford Chance, where he spent nearly 32 years and served as Global Managing Partner of the firm for a number of years.  During Mr. Cornell’s tenure at the firm, he played a key role in expanding the firm from its UK origins to a global player with over 3,500 lawyers in 30 offices, and in the process he became a trusted advisor to the CEOs and Boards of some of the world’s largest companies and financial institutions.  More than 15 years after leaving law, Mr. Cornell is still is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer at major law firm and legal industry events.

Mr. Cornell is also a Non-Executive Director of a number of private and publicly listed companies, and a member of the International Advisory Board of the Madrid Business School.

University of Exeter, B.A. (Economics and History) with honors.  Mr. Cornell is qualified to practice law in England and Wales.
